Condolences to the Gimza family. I met Karen in the neighborhood (Summit) and during our elementary school years. I'm a year younger (same age as Andy) and remember Karen well. After high school, I ran into Karen just a couple of times. The last time was at X-Sport in Chicago Ridge while she was working there. In her sweet voice she said to me, "I know you." I always made sure to say hi the few times I saw her there at X-Sport. Thankfully, I was able to reconnect with her on facebook. I admired her fight and will to live. A memorable Karen facebook moment was when her older brother (John) from Florida visited her after so many years. I could feel Karen's happiness coming out of my lap top screen as I viewed the pictures of that joyous family reunion. Although I won't be able to attend the visitation nor funeral due to business travel, my thoughts will be with all of you (Gimza family) during this time of mourning. God Bless, Ramsey Bacerott

Karen fought a long and hard battle. She was a warrior and a beautiful soul. I pray she is at peace, no longer suffering and is in the Lord's loving arms. God be with all family and friends.

Condolences

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to the entire Gimza family. I had the privilege to watch Karen grow into a beautiful woman and touch the hearts of everyone around her. She had the most beautiful smile that radiated sunshine and happiness where ever she was and no matter how hard she had to fight her battle. That smile will always stay with my heart. Karen, you were an angel on earth and now in God's home. God only takes the best and he chose you. To Don, may you again find yourself smiling with the love you two shared.
